This project is a four-story, 187-unit apartment community situated on a 6.8 acre site located adjacent to Star of Hope’s transformational Cornerstone Community® on Reed Road near SH 288. The Reed project, along with the adjacent Star of Hope Cornerstone campus is a complex of support and housing services designed to uplift families from generational poverty and stabilize lives.
The geotechnical engineer, Faisal Samoo, services included testing and inspection during construction included building, utility and paving earthwork, cast in place concrete, conventional steel reinforcing and structural masonry.
Reed is New Hope’s first community for families and children. The Urban Land Institute Houston named it a winner of the 2020 Development of Distinction. New Hope Housing’s mission is expanding to include 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartment homes. The combined campus of Star of Hope programs and NHH at Reed apartments will be a highly efficient complex of interrelated support and housing. Reed’s community spaces include a courtyard with a playground, business center, library, wellness room for fitness activities and multipurpose rooms.
